Saying Goodbye is Never Easy...

I was woken up yesterday morning by mom, she told me that something awful happened last night. I instantly thought of Jamocha because she had a bad dream that night. Mom said Jamocha died in her sleep. She isn't waking up and isn't breathing. I didn't believe it and ran down the hallway to her, expecting her to be sitting in her kennel waiting to go outside. She wasn't, she was just laying there, I bent down and hugged her and realized how cold she was. My heart broke. I remember saying No Baby Girl, wake up. Mom went outside to dig her a grave and I sat there holding her paw begging her to wake up. I called Jared and told him what happened, he came over as soon as possible. He stayed here all day, even though he worked the night shift the night before and last night. We miss our baby girl.
I love you Jamocha Jane.

Finals

I waited until now to talk about my finals because the final grades were just posted. 

This semester I took, Developmental Psychology I, Developmental Psychology II, Law and the Legal System, Behavioral Statistics, and 2 Dimensional Art. 

So for my finals in Psychology it was a simple test just like our midterms, 50 questions and a couple bonus. 

Stats was a take home work with a partner test. Then we had to write a Haiku about stats, draw a picture about stats, and tell him what we liked and disliked about his class. Then in class we had to have a small in class test because that is Techs new rule. So he told us he was going to walk out of the room and he wasn't telling us to cheat but whatever happens happens.

For my Law final (the most stressful) we could make a case cheat sheet, it could only be front and back and could include any case we went over this semester. My font was 10 with .3 margins to fit all of them. The test was 50 multiple choice questions, with 10 essay questions. Never in my life have I almost ran out of time but I only had 3 minutes left when I turned my final in. I love the criminal justice field but that class almost killed me. 

Finally my last final was my art final. We had a final project which was a self portrait, then we had to talk about it in class.  My art final: I'm the tree and all the words and pictures in the roots are what makes me, me.

After we were done, there was one girl left and she was really afraid to talk about it. We told her that no one would make fun of her, there is only 10 of us in the class anyways. So she got her project and set it up in the front of the class, then we all realized why she didn't want to talk about her project. It was charcoal of her committing suicide. She explained to us that she wanted to kill herself because her family hates her because she is lesbian. We all cried it was so heartbreaking to hear a happy, upbeat, always smiling girl say she doesn't want to live anymore. After class I talked to her I let her know that she is important and some day her parents will realize that she is amazing and that they don't hate her. I told her I never want her to think about suicide again because she is awesome she's always happy and I instantly wanted to be her friend at the beginning of the semester, and how awful would it be if I never got to meet her because she decided that no one cared about her.  We cried some more. 

I hate how people can't be accepting of others because they love differently. No one should feel like they are a disappointment or that their family no longer loves them because they love differently.

On happier terms my final grades have been posted and.....

Art Show

Sunday Canyon had an art show at Pottsville, he showed us all his art. He had a rhino mask with a razorback hat just like his. Some water color and tissue paper Coy fish. A warm and cool color horse. A paper mosaic red and green fire truck. And a watercolor owl. He knew exactly where his stuff was and was so excited to show us. 

Balloons over Russvegas!

To add to the busy Saturday we went to Balloons over Russvegas. Where hot air balloons come to Russellville and give rides. 

Canyon really really wanted to go up in a hot air balloon when we got there. I did not they stuffed waaay too many people into the basket, I knew I would have a panic attack. So we decided to walk around and see what else they had. We found helicopter rides and I was totally okay with that but there was one problem we brought Malaki with us. So we asked how much it was and told him that we would take our dog home and then come back. The man told us that some of his crew could watch Malaki for us, I didn't really like that idea I didn't want to come back and him be gone. Then he said hey if he can handle it just sit in the back and hold him and he can go. So we waited in line forever! And I started to have second thoughts about this. Every time the helicopters took off they would point there nose to the ground like they were going to crash, every time they would land they would bounce which was terrifying. Malaki though wasn't freaking out he'd just watch them take off and land and the noise or wind didn't bother him. Canyon loved watching but lost his hat a few times. Finally we were next and a man asked me if Malaki was a flying pup and I said of course!

So he strapped us in and I put Malaki behind the seat belt so he felt closer to me and safe. It was so exciting definitely more scary to watch than to be in it. Malaki had no problem just watch out the window. Canyon was cool as a cucumber. And kept giving me the thumbs up. 

After we landed the same man came to help me out and asked how it was and I told him it was amazing and I would definitely do it again, he asked how Malaki did and I said he did great and then he asked Malaki to give him some knuckles LOL. 

After the ride we went to find something to drink and a vendor threw Malaki a stress ball, since here was another Yorkie playing with one, and Malaki freaked out! I told him to chill he just flew on a helicopter but a ball is too scary. He's ridiculous. 

Equal Rights Rally

Saturday was insanely busy but busy days are better than boring days.

First 9am Canyon had his second baseball game. He played back catcher some and then was asked to play something else so another boy could be back catcher. He wasn't too happy but got over it.

We went to an Equal Rights Rally in downtown Russellville, never imagined we would have an equal rights rally in Russellville. While we were there I found some of my professors, and some classmates. After the walk around downtown we found a shaded grass area to watch the speeches.

 

First a girl went  up on stage and said she was proud of all the people that came out to support then asked her girlfriend to come on stage and proposed to her. TOO CUTE

A guy went up next to talk about his now husband that has been in the army and marines. He brought up his husband and he explained how difficult it was to be in the military and be gay because they weren't allowed to have the heartfelt goodbyes and the over happy returns they just had to half hug. After he retired the courts overruled the don't ask don't tell policy and now military members don't have to worry anymore. Since he was in the military he gets benefits, his husband will not though because Arkansas does not recognize same sex marriage. That is heartbreaking. In the picture below is the military member and his husband in the red shirt. The man in the yellow shirt sign says "20 years of military service, fought 2 wars, I pay my taxes, I've earned my equal rights." His husbands sign says "my marriage will not hurt your 2nd or 3rd."

Then a mom went to give her speech and talked about how she had two boys and desperately wanted a girl so she found out she was having twins and one was going to be a girl ad she was so happy. When her daughter was in high school she told her mother that she was a lesbian, then admitted that she thinks she was a boy trapped in a girls body. She explained how upset she was because she wanted a little girl so badly. Then she talked about how she came to accept it and loves her now son Zack. After she was done with her speech I realized I knew her and then I saw her son Zack and realized that I cheered with him when we were in Upward cheer back then her name was Caroline. It's a small world haha.

Finals Week

Finals Week is here this means stress headaches and dreams. I'm happy to know that my Stats Final is a take home final, and we get to work with a partner. For my Law class we get to have a case cheat sheet, and for art it is a Final Project. 

I love my art final, it is supposed to be a self portrait but she likes us to push the limits. My self portrait is a tree (me) with the roots showing, in the roots are words and pictures that make me, me. 

Summer Is Coming!

Basketball has ended, Canyon got his medal and some toys. Baseball begins, we had our first game on Saturday, Canyon played back catcher for both teams because the blue team did not have enough players. He was beyond worn out and had to take a break in the shade.

We forgot to practice hitting with Canyon before the season started, so five minutes before the game started me and Jared took Canyon aside and practiced with him. After a few hits he was a pro again. Canyon is on the red team this year, it's the first time he isn't on the blue team since he started playing. 

Saturday was also prom for Pottsville. Since it was a pretty day I suggested we go to the lake to hang out and I could get to see everyone in their beautiful prom dresses. 

Canyon has a new favorite song. Everytime it comes on he'll yell JAM and expect us to turn it up. This was the third time that Saturday that we danced to his JAM (uptown funk) 

The Storm!

The news kept sending out alerts that there was a bad storm coming to Pope County.

Then I got a call from Tech that said they would like everyone to take cover. Then moms storm warning radio came on and said that there is a high chance of hail. So we decided to hide Sparki from it. It is a good thing that Sparki is so small and could fit. 

Special Olympics

Canyon went to Special Olympics for shot put and standing long jump. 

He got second in shot put and fifth in standing long jump. He is now in the big boy group 16-21 so it is a lot harder for him to get gold. 

We were told that he did not qualify for state Special Olympics. We are heartbroken. 

Boot Game

Jared and Jordan were asked by their Sergeant to do color guard at the Boot Game. The game is between Dardanelle and Pottsville, to raise money for military members when they come back from war.

They are both alumni of Dardanelle, so it was pretty cool. 

A girl from Dardanelle Kelli Collins sang the National Anthem. (no relation)

Jared held the American flag and Jordan held the Arkansas flag. 

Jared Pied Carlee!!

 I sent Jared to get me scantrons while I worked on Statistics with my friend Sara. 

When he came back he was all excited about something Carlee had told him.

He said if we give Carlee a dollar we get to pie her in the face!! And it is for a good cause!! 

To Pie a Phi Mu, for a dollar, they donated it to childrens hospital. 

So we went to see her and Jared paid two dollars for two pies. 

Dress Blues Photo Shoot

The Dress Blue Photo Shoot started because the boys' pawpaw wanted a picture of all of them in uniform. I got these pictures while they were attempting to all be serious for the real picture

Then Kiley and I decided to join in the fun. The boys could only be serious for so long before the personality pictures started appearing. Haha.

I also made them take a picture with their mama.

Spring Break

Friday Jared came home from AIT and we checked Canyon out of school early to go to lunch.

Saturday was World Down Syndrome Day. Canyon was rocking his extra chromosome shirt.

Wednesday and Thursday, Jared, his mom, his older brother Jamie, Jamie's wife Kayce, their son Hudson, and I went up to Branson. We spent the first day shopping at Branson landing. I got New Tevas! So comfy. Our hotel was in Branson landing so we could go shopping whenever we wanted to. That night we ate a Joe's crab shack. Then Thursday we went to Silver Dollar City which was freezing and crowded then came home.

Friday we went to the MidAmerica Science Museum. I loved it there and can't wait to go back. I took Canyon through a jungle gym mine, where I learned Canyon is terrified of the dark and claustrophobic, I am too so we both had a little panic attack. I then turn on the flash light on my phone and he was much happier. Canyon then decided to jump on a big net trampoline with other kids, and wouldn't get off so I had to go get him. This trampoline was three stories in the air and I was freaking out. We then went to the Hot Springs Mall and Canyon and mom got new sneakers I got some water shoes that are made by Jeep.
